Attribution
Every figure on this site is attributed to one of four sources, and the page says which: manufacturer spec sheet, published technical or care document, independent measurement, or public owner reports. Where a value is a manufacturer's own claim rather than an independent measurement, we write it as a claim. We do not restate a brand's marketing language as if it were a measured property.
No first-person testing
We do not own a testing laboratory and we do not describe one. This site never claims to have "tested", "measured" or "used" a product for a stated number of hours. Where an entry describes how a product behaves over months or years, that behaviour is drawn from care documents and from patterns in public owner reports.
Untraceable numbers
A number we cannot trace is a number we do not print. Comparison tables state "not stated" where a maker does not publish a value, rather than substituting an estimate. Review ratings are omitted entirely when no traceable per-product source can be found.
Prices
A price shown is the price displayed at the destination at the time of checking. We do not label it as a list price or a suggested retail price, because we have not verified that it is one.
Commercial pressure
Commission does not determine selection, ordering, or verdict. Where a product fails on its published specification, it stays out of the picks regardless of what it pays. Where a well-specified product is unavailable through a programme we use, it still goes in.
What we do not publish
No coupon roundups, no price-drop alerts, no countdown deals, no sponsored placement in comparison tables, and no entries whose only purpose is to move a purchase. The full sourcing method is set out in How We Measure.
Corrections
Substantive corrections advance the updated date on the entry. Cosmetic changes do not. Every published entry carries both a publication date and an updated date so the two can be told apart.
